March Legendary Contest

We've come up with a second contest for the month of March courtesy of Fantasy Flight Games.

Here are the rules:

You must design a new Legendary class, an advanced form of prestige class designed for higher level characters that haven't crossed over to Epic level status. You can read more about Legendary classes by following these links: Path of the Sword, Path of Magic, Path of Shadow, and Path of Faith.

The class must conform to d20 system rules and contain original or open game content. If an open game content source is used, it must be cited for inclusion into the license. The class should be laid out in the standard class/prestige class format.

The winner will receive a copy of Path of the Sword and Path of Magic, kindly donated to us by the folks at Fantasy Flight Games.

The deadline for this contest is Sunday, April 20th, at midnight. All entries should be done in Word (.doc, .rtf) or Adobe (.pdf) format and submitted to Steve at ghost.wind@verizon.net with the subject header "Legendary Contest". Be sure to include your name, address and email on the submission itself.

All entries will appear in the June issue of d20Zine! for everyone to enjoy. So think about an original Legendary Class and submit it. Good luck to each and all of you.

Re:March Legendary Contest

That would be cool, thanks Steve.

Re:March Legendary Contest

Just out of curiousity, how many entries did you receive?

Re:March Legendary Contest

We received 10 entries from 8 different people. I haven't had the chance to go through them or the 2 entries from the other March contest yet. Hopefully next week, I'll get some extra time. :)

10 from 8. Yeesh, I feel like an over-enthusiastic person now, as I submitted 3.

New LgC contest

Yo Steve -- can we "in-house" folk send in submissions? I wrote some up for Wil when he had a similar contest a few months back. Turns out he was only looking for tank-type LgCs, so I tabled my rogue and mage ones.

I'll pull them back out and dust them off though, if you'll let me:)

Re:March Legendary Contest

Anyone can submit material for contests (including people involved in the indusry). There are no rules prohibiting staff participation on this site... :D

Re:March Legendary Contest

I'll see what I can do. I might just stick a sentence or two as a postscript to each entry in the d20Zine! article itself.

Re:March Legendary Contest

Steve,

Any chance of a brief critique of the entrants? What you liked and didn't like? I, for one, would like your opinion as that will help me in the future in design.

Re:March Legendary Contest

:?: Ah but when are we going to get the March results????

Re:March Legendary Contest

I'll be making a large contest winner announcement within the next couple of days. I've been really busy.

Re:March Legendary Contest

This is a great contest, and I would love to take a stab at it . . but what are the legendary classes. The links above take me to the sourcebook info page, but does not actually say what the legendary classes are. Is there an example of one somewhere, or anything I look at to make one. Or will I have to go by the book . . which means ordering it, in which case I doubt it will be in in time

Re:March Legendary Contest

The book excerpts should give you some idea of how it all works. There is also a lengthy thread over at EN world...

http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19228&perpage=40&pagenumber=1

There a numerous other examples of Legendary classes there, as well as a lot of feedback the threadmembers were pasing back and forth.

'luck:)

Re:March Legendary Contest

Ah Steve,
I actually sent in two legendary classes, they were both on the same document, sent at the same time.

Re:March Legendary Contest

My mistake, I was counting individual Word documents I had for each person. So yes, you have two.
