May is just around the corner and we are launching our May contest earlier so you have plenty of time to think about and develop your submission.

Once again, we are partnering with Mongoose Publishing to bring you another fantastic contest...

In honor of the release of the new Babylon 5 Roleplaying Game for the d20 system, we have put together a contest that tests your literary skills rather than game mechanics skills.

The objective of this contest is to write a short fiction piece of no less than 5000 words that uses the Babylon 5 universe as its backdrop. The story should be about original characters, but may use existing Babylon 5 characters in cameo appearances if absolutely necessary (no killing off established B5 characters). The only other requirement is that the story must involve a mongoose as a major plot element. The most original and best written story will be selected as the winner.

What's the prize this month? Mongoose has graciously agreed to donate a copy of the much anticipated Babylon 5 Roleplaying Game!! This is one of the hottest and most talked about licensed settings for the d20 system to date. Gamers everywhere are anxious to get their hands on this book and now you have the chance to win one rather than paying the $44.95 retail price.

The deadline for this contest is Saturday, May 31st, at midnight. All entries should be done in Word (.doc, .rtf) or Adobe (.pdf) format and submitted to Steve at ghost.wind@verizon.net with the subject header "Babylon 5 May Contest". Be sure to include your name, address and email on the submission itself.

All entries will appear in the June issue of d20Zine! for everyone to enjoy. So start writing your story with an original cast of characters along with a mongoose as part of the plot. Good luck to each and every one of you who enter.
