Forum for Articles & Guildcrafters

Hi, I am quite new here, but here with the intent on writing for the Gms Perspective.

I have read through most old ones and noticed comments posted, which is great, but not very often the author replied.

So I thought maybe they do so on the boards - but I come over here and am not sure where to look.

So what I am suggesting is a forum to discuss the Articles and Guildcrafters sections of the the website.

Of course there may well be one. I will have a deeper look, but it doesn't seem obvious.

Re:Forum for Articles & Guildcrafters

I can set something up easily enough for each of the Guildscrafter series.

Re:Forum for Articles & Guildcrafters

As I said, I am quite new around here and don't want to rattle the ship, but it just doesn't seem there is an obvious choice where to talk about the many great articles on this site.

People post comments after articles, but these rarely develop into discussions from what I have read ;)

And those writing the articles WANT comments and discussions - I found a thread on this too. :)

So maybe a Forum topic for discussion on your articles would be cool - that is if there is enough numbers and interest to do so. :)

Another thing I wanted to ask, but not sure where to. "Why is Mythus Mutters a seperate culumn?" It is full of great GM ideas and monsters etc that could be divided into the other relevant columns. They may not be seen in the Mythus Mutters section. I fully expected this to be the discussion of a campaign setting or something.

Re:Forum for Articles & Guildcrafters

Mythus gets his own article because him and I set it up that way a long time ago. ;) Seriously though, Alan's subject matter in the column varies so much that it's hard to pin it down to a single category such as GM's Perspective and whatnot. So, we just stick with what works for us. :)

Re:Forum for Articles & Guildcrafters

I think that the reason why authors if articles or reviews have not responded to comments posted - particularly if they are on old articles - is simply because they don't know they are there.

How many people go back regularly checking their previous articles or reviews for feedback?

Re:Forum for Articles & Guildcrafters

Typically, once an article has passed from the front page, I usually only check back on it about once a fortnight (two-week period, don'tcha know?), and then only for about a month. After that, I figure it is old news and that anyone who was interested has read it and commented (or not commented).

Re:Forum for Articles & Guildcrafters

I tend to watch the articles I have written for a long time in the hope new comments may be posted. I will continue to watch my articles endlessly hoping for feedback. New people have posted comments on several of the articles in the GM's Perspective so I would recommend following you articles for longer than 1 month.

I realise I haven't got many articles to follow, but I regularly check on them. Articles are one thing, reviews another. I wouldn't follow reviews for a similar length of time, but I still encourage article writers to scan back through those they have written. there has been new comments made from new people and several have hinted at future instalments and are looking forward to extra stuff...but have received no reply.

Re:Forum for Articles & Guildcrafters

I hardly ever look at a piece I've written once it's been posted - maybe once to catch any glaring errors I might have made.

Maybe I should...

Re:Forum for Articles & Guildcrafters

Yeah, i try and respond to all people who leave comments following my articles.
