Legends of Hyboria: Rules
First, I should like to remind everyone of the PbP Rules of Etiquette. These will be strictly enforced. The moderators may edit or delete any messages that they feel to be an infraction of the rules!
That said, here's how the game will work:

This campaign will use the Atlantean Edition rules. If you have a different rule set, you may use it for reference, but the Atlantean Edition will always take precedence.
Characters begin the campaign at 1st level. Characters that enter after the campaign has begun will enter the campaign at the same level as the lowest level participant. New characters must wait until they can be logically worked into the story.
Death is a very real possibility in the Conan milieu. Like they say, it's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game. Those whose character is killed may opt to begin a new character which will be introduced when the story permits. For those who manage to go out in a blaze of glory (i.e., an inspiring, heroic death), their new character will receive enough xp to put them halfway to their next level gain.
The GM will make all die rolls. This is strictly for simplicity and ease of play. Players may still choose when to make a skill check, but the GM will handle the roll and inform you of the results (if they would be apparent).
Generally speaking, I will wait until everyone has responded to (or had a chance to respond to) a post before continuing. However, if your reply is longer than about three days, I will continue the story and your character will act as logic dictates (defending himself, standing quietly, etc.).
When speaking in character, please remember to enclose your statements in quotations (" "). If desired, you may make your text a different color to better differentiate between spoken words and other parts of a post, but this is not required.
Please be sure to clearly denote Out of Character comments as such (OOC). Else, unless it is obviously meant to be such, I will regard it as an in-character statement.
The GM reserves the right to alter personal possessions belonging to characters within the confines of reason to better fit a story. As noted on pages 331 and 332 of the Atlantean Edition rules, this is a common feature of the Conan stories. The Conan mythos is about making a name for oneself, not gathering trinkets or coins.
If you were kind enough to take a code of honour, expect it to be tested! Else, why have one?[/list:o]
And that should about cover it. I'll have the first post up within the next day or so.
RE: Legends of Hyboria: Rules
Note to All: In the interest of actually getting somewhere with this campaign, I'm going to impose a limit of three days between moves. In general, I will try to post as often as you do (if you post once a day, I'll try to match it). However, I will post every three days regardless. If you go three days without posting, your character is assumed to be doing nothing. If the situation is a combat, your actions will be decided by the circumstances. Your character will always act in his or her own best interest, but will do only enough to preserve their own life.
If you wish to take no action and want to move the plot along, just say something to that effect (e.g., "Conan smirks at the threat, but makes no move to respond."). That lets me know that you have seen my post and just have nothing to add.
